
Do you ever have an experience that you find some SMS, promotion call is very disturbing when you are sleeping, working hard in office? Recently, I always receive a SMS, promotional call which sent by CITIBANK .I find it very disturbing, and I told them for so many times that I don’t want to get the information .However; I still received their call, SMS, E-mail after then.
Nowadays, Mobile marketing if done right can be extremely effective. It is a valuable tool for marketers to enjoy the benefits – both tangibles and intangibles. However, to avoid the above case that I experienced, marketer should take more concerned in the following point:
- Be aware of invasiveness: marketers send the information that users probably want, but in order for them to respond positively and not feel invaded, they need to receive it at the right time. For example: Don’t send your company’s product information at midnight or in an early morning.
- Be aware of the frequency of the messages: to avoid unwanted SPAM, marketers should send the messages which relevant to the customers. In mobile marketing, Pull strategy is much better than PUSH strategy.
- Build your database the right way - opt in and opt out: a ‘double opt-in’ method is recommended to ensure that your marketing efforts are not met with resentment or complaint. Of course, it is also important to give users an ‘opt out’ alternative.
